Handmade Artisan Jewelry
by Valerie Taloni
Thanks so much for stopping by to view my handmade artisan jewelry.
Webster’s dictionary defines the word “artisan” as a worker who practices a trade or handicraft—a craftsperson, or one who produces something in limited quantities, often using traditional methods. When it comes to jewelry, handcrafted, or handmade artisan jewelry has been around for thousands of years. (Think Cleopatra.)
Designing and creating handmade artisan jewelry is my hobby, though some would say it’s my obsession. Necklaces and bracelets are the mainstay of my collections. Some of my handmade artisan jewelry creations are bold and sometimes, even bodacious: statement necklaces and cuff bracelets. Many of my pieces are one-of-a-kind; some incorporate found objects from the 1900s and no-longer-loved jewelry. Every creation is infused with my full personal attention.
Handmade artisan jewelry is an investment. It’s fashion jewelry as opposed to fine jewelry, but there are no machines involved. No mass production. Each piece is made by the hands of the artisan using a variety of techniques.
You’re invited to browse my Lookbook: Some of these creations have moved on to new owners, while others may still be available. If you fall in love with a piece that you’d like to consider purchasing, please get in touch with me.
